The Road Book : RESPONSIBLE TOURISM

RESPONSIBLE TOURISM

Beyond our approach, we are working towards responsible tourism with the objective of ensuring the good economic distribution and development of local populations, the preservation of natural resources and the cultural exchange between travelers and natives.

Adopt simple gestures on your trip to follow our approach:

  • Avoid leaving waste behind you, use recycling bins.
  • Use drinking water sparingly.
  • Avoid degrading cultural sites; do not move any objects and do not bring anything back with you.
  • Avoid leaving the marked trails, limit trampling, collect nothing, and do not carry fossils…
  • In hotels, avoid over-consumption of energy, cut off the air conditioning when you are not present in the room.
  • The Costa Ricans are of a generally very welcoming temperament; do not hesitate to greet them by a simple “Buenas” (Hello)…

Road signs

The road signs are numerous and varied in Costa Rica. We provide you with the most popular.

Exchange with the local population

The Costa Ricans are smiling and friendly: replicate the same. Respect the rhythms of Costa Rican life and traditions.

Always ask permission before taking a picture with a person. The answer will certainly be positive and this will give you a good opportunity to share and why not to stay in touch after your return.

Do not hesitate to taste the local dishes; they are most often delicious and varied.

Consume local! Whether for your memories, activities or meals, the economic benefits will directly benefit the Costa Rican.

Pay in colons, it’s the currency of the country and will show your interest in culture and your desire to share.
